StrideLinx Cloud Updates
We’ll be posting every 2-3 weeks with updates that have been released on the StrideLinx cloud. You’ll find bug fixes, improvements and new features which will allow you to get even more out of the platform. Be sure you’re in the new StrideLinx cloud as you won’t see these features in the old version. There is an easy-to-use wizard that can convert your company from the old StrideLinx platform to the new one.
StrideLinx Cloud Updates
Need an easy way to get device info such as MAC/ Local IP / WAN IP from the phone app again and even from the web portal. Maybe a component for the device status pages? We want to switch back to the old platform because we need this ability!
Thank you for your feedback. No need to go back to the old platform. There's so much on StrideLinx 2.0 that will make your life easier once you find it. There are a couple options.
First, configure custom fields in the Admin app for MAC, Local IP, WAN IP and add the information from the router in fleet manager app to these fields. They will then be visible in the Portal app in list mode on a PC
browser. In the StrideLinx mobile app, Portal you’ll need to click on the router, device status tab, scroll down to the router info and scroll down to see the router network info you added.. See image below for PC browser view in Portal.
Or, you could create a Page (dashboard) on the Studio app and add static text there which would include all of the information you needed for a router. This could also be viewed when you click on the router in the Portal app and select the Page. This would be viewable in the StrideLinx mobile app or PC web browser.
Finally, you can use the web browser on your phone to log in to StrideLinx and go to the Fleet Manager app. The StrideLinx mobile app only shows the Portal app. The Fleet manager app has the information you need once you click on each router.
Problem with your solution is I would need to go back and do that for the 67 active devices I am managing. We use these in every system we sell and love them but we are really not liking the lack of easy info access for our techs on-site. Is it really not possible to simply pull that info as before and display it? I get you guys are adding all these great features but we need the basic stuff when we are out setting up these networks in the field first.
I have also failed to find a place at all in the new portal for finding the current WAN IP info. The only way I have been able to find it is by connecting to the device and browsing the its IP address.
If these features are really not going to become available I will need to migrate back. Is that an easy process?
The current network settings can be found in Fleet Manager, click on the router, go to Network, WAN settings. LAN IP is under Network, LAN. MAC is on the Info page at the bottom. WAN IP is there for the wired versions, but the cellular and wifi WAN IP addresses are not shown.
