Trigger Tag

I would like to start/stop a line trend graph when I have a discreet input indicating a process has started/stopped. The graphs tracks the current, power, or rpm.

 

I have not been able to get a trigger tag to work.. The bit I have attempted to use changes state at the beginning and end of the process. Minutes to hours apart in duration.

 

Having it track for 24 hours is a waste.

    Assuming EA7/EA9...

    Have you looked at the Option tab.

    Specifically at [ ] Start & Stop Tag

      As much as I have looked, I should have seen it, but some times I can’t see anything that is that obvious.

    Trigger tag just triggers one reading. I think you're looking for start & stop on the next tab as kewakl mentioned.

      The help topic is a bit lacking in this regard.

      -for item (t) it states (for the Sample Rate)

      1. Sample Rate: If the Timed Sample Rate is selected, click on the Up or Down arrows to select a number that indicates how often (time) to get samples.

      but for Trigger Tag, it describes how to fill out the form, without a clear mention that this tag will trigger one sample. (of course, one can infer or learn this, but it is not explicitly spelled out in the topic.)

      1. If the Trigger Tag is selected, click on the down arrow to select a Tag Name to assign for this Line Trend Graph. Clicking on the Browser button to the right of the Tag Name field down arrow opens the existing Tag Name Database for this project. From this database you may select a Tag Name and add or edit a Tag Name. To learn more, click on the green Tag Name Database text.

      3. In addition, click on the down arrow to select if this Tag is Triggered when the State is ON or OFF.

      Hmm, maybe this is a help topic CM244 feature request.

        I did come to the conclusion the TT was a one shot deal.

    Start Stop Tag should do it. Too obvious
