What am I missing? I am doing some thats seems to be simple but for the life of me I can't figure it out. The Murphy switch has a sensor reading the teeth on the starting fly wheel. In the start mode, as it rotates, I read 600-700 hz, when it starts, I get around 3850 to 3890 hz. I have the rpms set at 1800 rpms, I need to read the the low hz (0-700) to disengage the starter when running, and to read the higher hz in case the diesel would over rpm or under rpm. The problem is that I cannot seem to make the D-05 DR-D to monitor this. I have been using a function generator to sent the same type of signal to this PLC and it seems to work until 5.2 mega hertz with no problem.....Any help would be useful. Thanks

Note the limitation on high speed counting in the manual.
The available high-speed input features are:
• High Speed Counter (5 kHz max.) with up to 24 counter presets and built-in interrupt subroutine, counts up only, with reset

CTRIO module supports higher frequencies. How high do you need to go?

The max that I need to monitor 3.9 khz, if I could do that with V memory or something fast enough to monitor it,that would be great. It is a stand alone unit and starts when the power goes out more than 10 minutes or so. DO-05 DR-D seemed like a good choice being 12-24 vdc powered.
