This is the second F1-130AR in a year that has died. I'm told for no apparent reason. No lights at all. It is as if it has no power. Input voltage is good, 117VAC. Any ideas or suggestions?? Has anyone had simlar problems?

You too?? No lights or action. I couldnt figure it out so I took it apart to look for a fuse, or loose connection. No such luck. It lasted for about 6 months before it went dead. This was the only falure of about 10 DL105 applications I have done.

This is the second out of five that has gone dead for me. I also took one apart and did find that a 10 ohm resistor that is connected in series with the incoming AC power was smoked. I replaced it but unfortunatly it smoked again...The other one that went dead did not show this resistor as being smoked...both of these were about a year old.

If the power LED does not come on when input power is applied then the 130 power supply has failed or been damaged and the module should be returned for repair. The most likely cause of this is high voltage spikes coming in on the input power terminals.
Is the input power fused separately from the relay load power?
For 110/120VAC application the PLC only should be fused at 0.5 amps. The loads are to be fused accordingly to your application. DO NOT jumper the relay commons back to the INPUT power connections. Please see pages 2-10 and 2-11 in the D1-USER-M.
Are the relays switching inductive loads? See 2-22 of the 105 User Manual for details on this.
Is there surge suppression across the coils of the inductive loads? See 2-23 of the 105 User Manual for some surge suppressor part numbers.

The DL105 PLC's have removable terminal blocks (top and bottom). I have seen these terminal blocks crack from age and abuse, resulting in very strange problems with the DL105 PLC's. As the electrical contact "fingers " of the terminal blocks do not "grip " the printed circuit board contacts of the CPU, the "fingers " of the terminal blocks simply press against the PCB, requiring that the structural integrity of the plastic terminal blocks to make contact.
Thus, I'd recommend you unscrew both terminal blocks and examine them closely. You can buy spares from Automation Direct.

The terminal strips were the first things I checked. Like I said earlier, the 10 ohm resistors in the incoming power was smoked. I'm checking on what FACTSTech recommended at this time. Anyone know who would repair this..assuming bad power supply is it worth the cost to repair. I still have one that I haven't creamated quite yet...

If the module is outside the AutomationDirect warranty period (One Year from Date of Purchase), call FACTS Engineering at 800 783 3225 x121 to request an RMA for repair.

I just have to ask though, @$149 for PLC, is is worth sending back for repairs?
