I am slowly teaching myself Automation Direct, recently I purchased 1 GS-EDRV 100 and 1 GS-EDRV from ebay. I configured the GS-EDRV 100 easily but I a cannot find the IP address of the GS-EDRV using NetEdit3,played around with the dip switches, even used Advanced IP scanner and nothing. When powered up the RTS and TDX led blinks, RXD led on steady, link led on steady and the Active led blinks ever so often. Is there something i didnt do? Any assistance is much appreciated

Are all the dip switches off?
How did you configure the the GS-EDRV if you do not know it's IP address?
Is there a router on the network?

I should have read your first post more carefully :enbarrased/frown:
Are you using a crossover cable straight to your PC?
Also, did you cycle power on the unit?

You can also check the FAQs here: http://www.hosteng.com/FAQFiles/EDRV.htm
I have no EDRV experience, but NetEdit has been "quirky " at times requiring me to select the network card, or choose IPX instead of TCP or vice versa.

Plcnut there is nothing to be embarassed, about believe me.
Windows & does not have IPX
cycled the power and even have a stride ethernet switch, all my ethernet cards are read from netedit except the GS EDRV,
I am thinking if something is wrong with the converter but the error light is OFF.

binary01, When you use NetEdit, choose from the menu, Network --> Adapter and pick something besides Default. Does that cause the GS-EDRV to show up?

Thanks for the response Greg.
I found the problem, It had an different IP (and maybe subnet).
I used my windows XP pc and enabled IPX and found the IP(10.20.253.14)but could not see the subnet, reset to factory default and then assigned my new IP.
Thanks everyone.
