I am a beginner with the C-more micro software. I encounter the PTC-017 error when trying to transfer the demo project to the display. Is there a list of errors somewhere in the software documentation? Is there a tutorial for beginners?

I tried a different computer, one with a fresh copy of WinXP Pro. The error did not recur on the new system.

This error is not in the error list in the Help files. But it is in the screen capture.
If you open Help, search for "PTC Errors " (with the quotes) the only topic you get shows a screen capture of the PTC-017 Error. Basically you are:
1) not connected to the panel
2) Selected the wrong com port
3) did not select F!-F5 on the panel to put it in the setup screen.
Most likely you had the wrong com port selected.
1) Go to the Device Manager on you PC (there is a button in the project transfer screen that will open the device manager).
2) Select Ports (COM & LPT)
3) Find which COM Port that says: "Koyo USB-Serial Com Port "
This is the COM PORT you select in the C-more Micro Software when transfering.
