Having one program for multiple configurations?
I'd like to make a universal program for my machines. Our machines have an optional add on that would need an analog card for some sensors. Is there anyway to do it so one program can do both configurations without having to add the analog card and individual tags back in each time? Thanks.
If using a P2 or P3 system you could add the module and mark it as hot swappable. Then when needed swap the module back to "stop program when module is disconnected" option.
And when using the module in hot swap mode, you should be able to use the module status as an enable bit for activating the program that uses that section of ladder code.
Is there a solution for P1 CPUs?
@SJM JFK (Customer) Thank you for your question. Since hot swapping isn’t supported on the P1000 series there is no viable option. It’s available only with the P2000 and P3000 CPUs.
We sell a product here at work built upon a P1K, and even though it's configurable for two different input types, because the cost of the "extra" module is nominal, we include it anyway as standard.
