ericn (Customer) asked a question.

OK, Cancel, etc. buttons are off screen in C-More v9.01

This is in the C-More software, not the HMI screen.

On my laptop, all of the popup windows for objects etc. are very tall, and the OK, Cancel, etc. buttons are all below the screen. The only way I can even see them is by right clicking the window and selecting MOVE, then use the arrow keys to move it up.

See the attached screenshot

My screen resolution is 1920 x 1080. They appear fine on my desktop PC running at the same resolution. I remember having this issue before with other software, but I forget what I did to resolve it. Older versions of CM5 are fine, but those popup windows are more landscape shaped than portrait.

Thanks! -Eric

Try moving the window down using the arrow keys as you have when you moved it up. Then grab the top edge of the window and click and drag it down to resize the window smaller. Then either use the arrow buttons or click and drag the window back up to where you want it.

Same issue. I can re-size but then the next object has the same issue. One thing I have done is autohide the Windows tack bar. Then the OK is at the bottom of the screen. But occasionally I try to click OK and the stupid task bar slides up over the OK. Then I have to move my mouse away, wait for the taskbar to slide back down and try to click OK again.

The window default size should fit on most monitors, but if you have the Windows display "Scale" set up at 125 or 150% it may cause problems. Check by right clicking on your desktop background and select "Display Settings". Then scroll down a little and you'll see "Scale". If that is set high, that would explain what you are seeing.

In C-more, when you resize the object windows, it should "Remember" your last setting so all object windows open at the same size and location.

    Thanks for the suggestions!

@ADC_HmiClicK_PE01 (AutomationDirect) : That does solve the issue, but my old eyes just can't see text that small on my 15" laptop screen. I need 125%, and even Windows says that the 'recommended' scaling.

    scale

My PC has a 30" display, so 100% scaling if fine. which is why it works properly on that screen.

@JB2020 (Customer) That works great, and will be my solution for now, It does keep the windows at the new size for that session, but unfortunately, the windows go back to the default size when I close and reopen the program.

    Thanks! -Eric

I can relate to the old eyes issue. I'll talk to the developers and see what we can do about either automatically resizing to accommodate the scale setting or at least remembering the window size across sessions.

Just for background, our first previews of the software had the window as the same size as V8. The problem was that in early user testing, more than 50% of our testers didn't realize the window would scroll and they had a hard time finding all the settings. In response, we changed the default size and made it so a section was cut in half - making it obvious that there was more below the line.

Our focus over the next few releases is making the software easier to use while developing more complex projects. Most everything is on the table for discussion, so keep the suggestions coming.
