Alligood (Customer) asked a question.

P1-622 receive broadcast messages?

We have an application where a P1-622 is a Modbus serial RS-232 polling master. Can the PLC also receive Modbus broadcast messages?

(Another PLC will broadcast using slave address 0.)

Unfortunately, the most RS-232 devices cannot be a master and slave at the same time on the same port. Productivity PLCs (including the P1-622) are in this category, so if you have the P1-622 configured as a Modbus serial RS-232 polling master, it will be unable to receive Modbus broadcast messages at slave address 0.

You can keep the 232 as a polling Modbus master, and use the 485 port as your MODBUS slave for receiving broadcast messages.
