GS10 Quick Start RS485 Port wiring confusion

Hoping this helps others who are in the field like I was yesterday; I had to punt and call technical support.

Hardware:

Click Plus C2-03CPU, using port3 to comm to drive

GS10 drive GS11N-21P0, connecting to native RS485 port

Ziplink cable ZL-RJ12-CBL-2P

If I go by the quick start guide of the GS10, pin 5 is SG+, pin 4 is SG-, and pin 3/7 is SGND

Looking at the Ziplink cable, pin 5 is yellow, pin 4 is green, and pin 3 is red.

I could not for the life of me get the comms to work, spoke with tech support, and since it was the end of the day, was told they would get back to me with solution via email. Come in this morning to find the correct wiring is green is SG+ and red is SG-.

So, either the quick start guide is wrong, or there needs to be an additional insert when one is using the Ziplink cable.

That all looks correct. The note in the QSG is referring to the pinout of the RJ-45 port on the drive. This doesn't change, regardless of what cable is being used.

    Pin 5= SG+

    Pin 4= SG-

Something to keep in mind when plugging an RJ-12 cable (6 pin) into the 8 pin port is the two outer-most pins of the RJ-45 (1 & 8) wont make contact. |

Pins 1-6 of the RJ-12 cable line up with pins 2-7 of the RJ-45 port.

Pin 3 of the cable (Red) lines up with pin 4 on the port (SG-).

Pin 4 of the cable (Green) lines up with pin 5 on the port (SG+).

I see that now. Maybe a special note for RJ12 cable use? I dunno.
