FNL_ENG (Customer) asked a question.
I have a customer with two GS20 drive with CM-ENETIP comm cards. Intermittently, the comm cards get their IP addresses reset to 10.20.200.177 and 178. The IP address that is needed to communicate with our PLC is 192.168.53.177 and 178. I find it unusual that the IP would be reset to anything other than the card default which is 0.0.0.0, according to the drive manual. I had their tech confirm that DHCP is not selected in the parameters. I did find that the fw in the comm card is 1.00, where the latest is 1.02. I will work with them to update the fw. My question is whether the 10.20.200.xxx is anything that can be associated with Automation Direct devices, or if maybe I should look at one of their network devices assigning that address range to us. Maybe that is something that got fixed in fw updates, where maybe the first 3 octets aren't locked when static IP is selected, only the last one is locked. Anyone have experience or ideas?
10.20.200.x is the IP range a Productivity PLC will assign to GS drives attached to it's Remote I/O port.
This isn't done using DHCP.
