strantor2 (Customer) asked a question.

Does anyone have a Solidworks Electrical parts library for Productivity PLCs and/or other AD parts?

The Solidworks Electrical component portal (ECP) only has one upload of PLC components and it was in 2011. It's just DL205 stuff. I'm looking for P3000 and P1000 and anything else that might be available.

P.S. I am aware that there are 2D CAD files available for every component. These are much appreciated and very helpful but not the same thing as what I am looking for.

Are you looking for an entire library or individual 3D files?

For individual files if you go to any of the P3 or P1 part numbers and scroll down to the downloads section and you will see a View/Download 2D/3D CAD button. Select this and then you can pick several options for the CAD file format including SolidWorks.

Thank you. What you described is what I was referring to in my P.S. of my post. I am currently using those 2D and 3D CAD files to incorporate into my own Solidworks Electrical "Manufacturer Parts" files. A "manufacturer part" file in Solidworks Electrical is a lot more involved than just a CAD file. It's a parametric file that includes the 2D CAD, 3D CAD, the schematic symbol, terminal names, datasheet, tons of metadata, and more. Here's what that looks like:

image.pngimageIt is pretty tedious to create these files. I am assuming that AutomationDirect doesn't have these Solidworks Electrical-specific files available for download but I am hopeful that someone who designs around AutomationDirect components and uses Solidworks Electrical might have already created some of it and would be willing to share or sell it.
