GSoft connects but GSLogic doesn't. I have a GS21-23PO drive connecting to laptop via USB. I am replacing this unit with a new one.

The new allows me to connect and load Parameters with GSoft but I can not connect using the GSLogics to load PLC ladder.

Verify the PLC is not disabled. In order to communicate, the PLC mode has to be set to PLC1 (Run) or PLC2 (Stop).

Have a GS21-20P2, and able to "Write to PLC". Do you see "USB Serial Device (COM5)" in your Device Manager under Ports (COM & LPT)? (Your COM port may be a different port number) Do the Port Settings for "USB Serial Device (COM5)" match the Communication Setting in GSLogic? My Communication Setting in GSLogic is the following: (again, your setting may be different, but laptop and VFD settings must match)

    Type: RS485

    COM Port: 5

Data Length: 8, RTU (8 bits)

    Parity: None

    Stop Bits: 1

    Baud Rate: 9600

    Station Address: 2

    Times of Auto-retry: 3

Time Interval of Auto-retry (sec.): 3

The "Auto -detect" will look for and display the GS20 PLC settings. When you try to "Write to PLC", do you get any errors or messages that might indicate the problem? Being new, the PLC should not be "Locked" If so, you would get a "Enter Password" message when trying to "Write to PLC". And when all else fails, tech support will solve the problem!

Its Strange. This works on my 20P but not the new 23P.

On the 23P it just gives a Time-Out message. When I run Auto Detect in the GSoft program it comes back as 4800 7, None, 2. In the GSLogic it doesn't give me an option to set it to 4800.

PLC was NOT enabled. That was my problem. I just didn't realize I needed to do that. Thanks
