DavidChuang (Customer) asked a question.
I just unpacked a brand new Click Plus (1 slot) device and I cannot connect to the device over Ethernet or USB.
When attempting to connect via USB, I get a PTC-020 error.
When attempting to connect via Ethernet, I get a PTC-001 error
In the USB connection dialog, I get no ports listed
However, when I click on the "Detail" button, the port does show up.
But when I double click to select it, it does not show in the main dialog.
When attempting to connect via Ethernet, the PLC's do show up in the scan
I can edit the IP addresses in this dialog, but when I try to connect I get the PTC-001 error.
Click programming software version is 3.70
Has anyone else encountered this error?
Any thoughts on a resolution?

I would recommend using V3.6 as others have found V3.7 buggy.
Does v3.60 support the C2-NRED module?
I was under the impression that only v3.70 supported that.
DC
You will need v3.7 for the C2-NRED.
I suggest running the Click software as admin and test connecting.
Close the software and right-click on the Click software shortcut and select Run as Administrator.
I did that and it did not help.
I am using a USB Ethernet adapter so that I can leave the built-in Ethernet port configured for my corporate network.
I will try using the built-in port.
Though I'm not optimistic as the USB connection was unsuccessful.
However they give different errors so maybe there's a chance.

Are you running any Antivirus or Firewall? Also if this is a new install of v3.70 I would recommend trying to delete and reinstall. If that does not work I would suggest calling out free Tech Support so that we can get a case started.
Yes to the anti-virus and firewall stuff; it's all provisioned and managed by my corporate IT beforehand.
I have no vote in the matter.
I also have Do-More designer v2.10 installed and that has no problems using the USB Ethernet adapter or just straight USB to connect to it's respective devices.
And if you're wondering, I still get this issue whether the Do-More software is running or not.
I'm not sure what you mean by new install of v3.70?
I had v3.60 installed previously and installed v3.70 to work with a newly acquired Click Plus and C2-NRED
So as far as Click software goes, no, but as far as versions go, yes.
I tried the built-in network port; no luck.
Out of desperation, I reinstalled v3.70 and that seemed to work.
I don't know why or how.
Firmware update of the hardware is dodgy over Ethernet; it failed the first time.
I reconnected via USB and that was much better.
DC
A reinstall if v3.70 is what I meant. Glad you are now connected
