IGS Engineer (Customer) asked a question.
I got the alarm code on the servo. Re-Wired a few things and no longer get the alarm but my servo will not start the index function i have programmed into it. I have switches installed that are linked to SV-ON, HSTART, E-STOP, Start & Stop. All of them show properly and light up in Drive CM yet when i wire my DC Power supply and Digital voltage reader the system will not start the index function. The homing button works and the servo moves to home it. I can manually jog it via Drive CM but it will also not start the index function through the software as well.
This is my wiring diagram. The double potentiometers are for a voltage override for speed adjustment which also works.
I fell like its a wiring problem but i really don't know where to start. The servo is getting enough voltage when its on. Is there something else i am missing?
Hello,
I have a few questions and suggestions.
If none of these help then it would be best to send our configuration file in to Automation Directs tech support for review and test.
Hello again,
A couple other ideas.
You can also disconnect the CN1 control cable completely and test the Digital Input functionality with Drive CM only (use the Active High and Active Low selection in the Digital Input window to turn DIs on and off for testing) . That completely takes away any issues with DI wiring any analog potentiometers messing with speed override.
Make sure Control Mode 0x3000 is set to 0 (Indexing Position Mode)
For testing, set the Index type for Relative, this wil guarantee a move is required. An Absolute move to the same position would not show any movement. EX: if you ran index 1 as an absolute move and it went there then kept trying to run index 1 the motor would never move since the motor is already at that absolute position.
Ensure the move distance is set large enough. (if no electronic gearing is used, a move distance of 1500 would result in a 1 degree move).
