P1-540 and/or P1-550 remote I/O capabilites?

I have a possible project coming up in the works. It will require multiple remote areas with digital I/O and analog I/O.

I see in the documentation you can have up to 4 remote I/O modules. Either 4 P1-RX modules or 4 ProtosX TCP couplers. This would be the P1-550 connected to the remote I/O port on the CPU.

My question, mainly looking to see if I'm understanding correctly. If I would use the ProtosX Ethernet coupler (PX-EIP1) and set them up as generic clients in the hardware configuration > Ethernet/IP tab, would I then be able to connect up to 32 of them with implicit messaging? Basically creating 32 remote I/O modules being the Productivity CPU would be the 'Scanner'?

Yes you can connect up to 32 EtherNet/IP Adapters (per table help topic P050) to a P1-540 or P1-550 that would act as an EtherNet/IP Scanner. You would use the ProtosX Utility to setup the coupler and it will provide you the input, output, and config data needed for the setup in hardware configuration.

Thank you for the answer! That was my understanding from the documentation I was reading. Again just wanted confirmation that I was comprehending it correctly.
