HELP! URGENT! P2-622 - Could not transfer the project to the CPU!!!

Whenever I try to download to a PLC I get an error that says...P2-622 Could not transfer the project to the CPU. No matter what I did...it would NOT download. I tried flipping the switch on the front to Stop, dumping the program from the PLC and uploading a empty program, rebooting the PLC...this PLC was basically dead to downloads. I was still able to go online, but could not download.

The only way I could get it to work was I ended up uninstalling the software and reinstalling. I started a firmware update and initially it wouldn't communicate, saying failed to do update. When I hit close...it popped up with an error saying you are attempting to do a firmware update please reboot. So it software rebooted and then the firmware took. After that point, I was able to download the program.

Everything started working, I was able to download the program and go online. I made one small online change to the code and BOOM same error P2-622 Could not transfer the project to the CPU and the PLC would go to stop mode and back to square one. This is very frustrating because when I tested the PLC in the shop, this error was NON-EXISTANT. What is going on...this is my first experience after changing to AD from Allen Bradly...and is extremely inconvenient and happens especially on a startup!

OMG....a HUGE FYI FOR ANYONE WHO HAS THIS PROBLEM. I had a file saved as version 4.1.0.69 but was using an older version of the programming software 4.0.1.7. The biggest issue was that the older software does not do a check for the version that the file was opened in.

People...make sure you double and triple check your version of software before you try to download. It would be VERY helpful if Automation Direct put in a warning when downloading, or a HEY check this...instead of a sentence that gives you no lead on where to look.

OH and a big thank you Automation Direct...you guys put in a password protect for files!!! It works awesome! THANK YOU!!!

4.1.07? Looking at the release do not see this as a released version. I do see 4.1.0.69 & 4.0.1.7. If I try to open 4.1.x.x in 4.0.x.x I get the below error:

Thank you for reaching out. Yes, it was definitely 4.0.1.7 an no error popped up when I did open the file. Please see the screenshot of the original VM. Right now this it is a ghost because after I updated...I can not replicate the error. Either way, if you are experiencing the "P2-622 Could not transfer the project to the CPU." error updating the software and the firmware worked for me.

Still was an easier fix to update the software than using Rockwell Automations 😁. Downloading their software to do this same test would of taken me 6-8 hours!
