Are you using Channel 0(DF1) or 1(DH-485) on the SLC5/03? If you are using channel 1, the CM5 does not support DH485 like the EA9 did. If you are using Channel 0, then use the EA-SLC-232-CBL.
DH485. So when I get the new 232 cable will I have to change any settings in my slc5/03?
Depends on the port settings in your SLC5/03. So long as the settings in your CM5 project and SLC Channel 0 are the same.
See help file CM003 in the CM5 software.
I recommend making a simple project on the CM5 with a single Numeric Entry pointing to N7:0 and make sure you get that working before trying more.
