Stridelinx access existing customer, new portal gets "401 Unauthorized"

I have a customer using an iPhone 13 to access a web service configured in a Stridelinx VPN router and once logged in and he hits the link which should open a web browser into the Red Lion HMI, and his phone shows "401 Unauthorized" in a browser page and hangs there. I can access the device fine from a PC or from my Android phone. I don't know anything about IPhone or what web browser it tries to pull up or what we might try next.

Any suggestions?

I assume the Iphone customer, instead of using the stridelinx app, is trying to access the HMI using a link that opens in a webbrowser. I just ran through this sequence and received "401 not authorized" as well.

However, going through the Stridelinx app and connecting to the configured web service through the button shown on the configured device worked flawlessly on my iPhone 13.

My suggestion is to try using the stridelinx app to launch connection to the HMI.

For this to work as easy as possible it's important to have the selection "Show in device overview on mobile" active in the FleetManager device configuration:

    web_service_show_on_mobile

With this active the button to connect is display right at the device overview screen:

    web_service_show_on_mobile_2

Hope this helped solve the issue ..

His device is already set up like that and we attempted to open the (Red Lion) HMI webpage from the button that appears within the Stridlinx Portal App. Before I posted this thread, we did find that he still had the old version of the app on his phone and got it uninstalled and installed the new one. We also tested his login from his office PC (which he didn't remember how to use) and were able to connect to the HMI that way. I think this rules out some corruption of his account and also he has a way to check on his plant without his phone as a workaround for now. I have to revisit that plant later this week and we will try again. Thanks for the tips!
