Uninterruptible AC Power Supplies for controllers
Does anyone have a good lead on a small UPS with an AC output voltage? Looking for some for our machine controllers. The grid out here is becoming more and more unreliable. We are up to 11 power outages since may that have lasted more than a couple hours.
The controller only pulls about 36 watts that includes the HMI and the DC power supply. Preferably a DIN rail mount. Would be great if it would last a couple hours but I would consider anything really. Mainly need it to get our cycle counts off machine incase the werent recorded electronically incase the power is out for extended period. Thanks
Lots of possible options when I did a Google search for industrial UPS with an AC output voltage. Another option would be posting your question over at https://www.plctalk.net/qanda/index.php to get additional feedback on your inquiry.
Just dont buy any cheaper CyberPower UPS's, they have a life of 2-3 years before they kill themselves due to the way CyberPower manufactures them.
I installed some tripplite. I installed replacements one month later, and another a month after. I went back to APC. The tripplite devices WERE 'office product' and not industrial quality by any stretch of the imagination.
The only DIN mounted UPS that I have used is SOLAHD/Emerson SDU500B
These have worked well in MY installations.
HOWEVER in the same building - in other applications - they have failed miserably! I do not know why.
Thanks all. Still working on setting up all our machines to collect the data throughout the day, but with being short staffed in maintenance I rarely have time to be at the computer for long periods.
Sola has din rail mount AC UPS available. I have used a bunch of these in the past.

That is the same family that I mentioned earlier. They work well for my applications.
