RickN (Customer) asked a question.

I have two 120Vac,1hp well pumps controlled by the ordinary pressure switches. They operate independently, but there is only one 120Vac cable available. I need to control them separately but not simultaneously, because of the current limitations.

I need advice on what PLC and I/o module to use.

    1. If you don't already have, you'll need motor contactors to handle the motors' amperage load. Outputs of PLC's are normally 1/2-amp or less.
    2. What is the output of the pressure switch?.0-10V? 4-20ma?
    3. You'll code the PLC so only one pump can operate at a time.
    4. This could be handled by a Click but if you anticipate in the future needing tracking of operation, etc. go with a BRX or a Productivity 1000.

    Thanks, Todd!

The pressure switches operate 120 Vac contacts.

Yes, I have two 120 Vac contactors for the pumps.

The contactor coils are also 120 Vac.

@OkiePC (Customer)'s solution is by far the simplest with no PLC needed.
