Dr. Glenn (Customer) asked a question.

Why am I getting what looks like serial data out of an AMT132S-V encoder?

First off, the AMT software needs help. Too many issues to list here.

I've managed to configure the AMT132S-V encoder to 512PPR. I have the 5VDC and GND power correctly connected. The 0VDC of all DC power supplies in the system are grounded. The A+ (Brn/Wht) and B+ (Grn/Wht) wires from the encoder cable (AMT-18C-3-120) are sending continuous serial-like pulses when the motor is not moving. If I move the shaft, the serial stream changes.

What might I be doing wrong?

Thank you for replying, Mr. Carlton.

I am using pins 8 and 10 as you suggested. I am using an oscilloscope to look at the signals on all wires from the encoder and see serial-type pulses. Pins 8 and 10's pulse-streams change if I rotate the motor's shaft.

I've also contacted the manufacturer about the configuration software. I'll
      post their reply.

      Regards,

      Glenn
