How to remotely connect to EA3 screens via 3rd Party VPN
Has anyone been successful remotely connecting to these screens? To clarify there is no PC at the site. Only a 3rd party VPN access device called Secomea Sitemanager. It has serial, USB and ethernet for all forms of com. Have been able to use this device an EA9 screens via ethernet, BRX via ethernet and Direct Logic via Serial-USB convertor. Using the same EA-MG-PGM-CBL for DL06 with the EA3-S3ML-R screen. Screen does power up and is in setup mode and I cans see data transfer through the VPN but panel simply times out.
Ii appears that HMI only supports a serial connection.
Are you trying to program the HMI remotely using the VPN appliance serial port?
Or are you trying to use the HMI to connect to a remote PLC serially?
I think we need a few more details about what you are trying to do and how things are connected in order to determine if it is possible.
Yes serial only.

I don't have first hand experience with that device, but I have read threads about it on PLCTalk. None of them were using the serial port feature. You might want to pose your question there or to Secomea tech support.
