C-More EA9-T10WCL and D4-440

Hi, currently I'm woriking on a project with a D4-440 and a new C-More EA9-T10WCL.

 

I've done some screens for the HMI, however I can't connect the HMI to read the PLC tags. I've already named all of the PLC tags and export them to HMI.

 

The problem starts when I connect the HMI and the PLC Via RS-232. I'm trying to use de D-15 connector on both the HMI and PLC and I don't know if I have'nt set it right but it shows the error code PLC-001 PLC Communication Timeout.

 

I'm using DirectSoft 5 Programming and C-More Programming, hope somebody can help me.

    Question: Do you know how I can check if the comms are good between PLC and HMI?

    Answer:

    1. You can monitor the Good Communication Toggle in Panel to PLC ( reference help topic CM309) used to confirm a good connection between the Panel and the PLC. The Tag toggles On to OFF on a 5 second interval.
    2. While the Main Menu system setup screen is being displayed, the extreme upper left corner

    of the touch panel can be pressed for 3 seconds to access test menu page 5-28.

    1. Have you confirmed they are both on the same protocol? K-sequence or DirectNet?
    2. Baud rate, parity, stop bit, ect. is correct?

    Hi,

     

    The problem was that Baud rate was off. The alarm has desappeared however, when I try to use the HMI to send commands to the PLC it does not change the state of the input I'm trying to control.

     

    Do you know how I can check if the comms are good between PLC and HMI?

    Hi,

     

    I've tried that. However when touch on the PLC Enquiry Test it changes the screen to the "Test Comm, Port" screen.

     

    It displays the Serial and Selected PLC but does not give a result. Seems like it gets stuck.

     

    Could this be a comms error due to configuration?

      Do you have the correct Serial port selected? There are tabs along the top of the screen. It should be either Port 1 (15 pin) or Port 3 (RJ12). I would also verify in your project in Panel Manager that the correct com port is selected. If that does not resolve your issue please reach out to our technical support team at 1-800-633-0405.     Also if I try to push rhe cancel button it does not cancel the test

    Port 0 (15-pin) of the D4-440 only supports the K-Sequence protocol (if I remember correctly). The image of your C-More project indicates that you have selected the DirectNet protocol. Change the protocol selection in your C-More project to K-Sequence and see if that moves you forward.

      Will it affect the comms between the PLC and the D4-EX modules?
