Jinho (Customer) asked a question.
Does anyone know how to communicate with DirectLogic205 DL240 CPU using DirecNet protocol?
I want to communicate with the DirectLogic205 DL240CPU using the DirectNet protocol but I cannot talk. Of course, I configured the communication setting for the port1 as below;
- Baud rate: 9600
- Data bit: 8
- Stop bit: 1
- Parity: Odd
- Station Address: 1
I couldn't get any answer from port 1 after sending ENQ exactly the same as the instruction manual. (HEX: 4E2105)
Is port 1 support the DirectNet protocol? if so then please advise me how I can communicate with it.
Otherwise, could you advise me on how I can get the K-sequence protocol? (because I have no chance to use port 2)
I believe Port1 on a 240 is K-Sequence Only and is unconfigurable. K-Sequence is a proprietary protocol.
D2-DCM expansion module may be your only option to add a DirectNET port.
Thank you for your advise.
@HOST_franji1 (HOST Engineering) is correct. Port 1 of the D2-240 does not support DirectNET; only the K-Sequence protocol (which is proprietary). Aside from his suggestion, the D2-250-1, D2-260, and D2-262 each support DirectNET (server) on Port 1; should CPU replacement be an option for you.
