Can anyone help troubleshoot a EA3-T4CL panel?

I'm trying to help a client and am not having much luck.

 

He wrote:

 

The touchscreen control panel (Model# EA3-T4CL made by Automation Direct) went blank. At first, no touch screen functions would work. Later it started to flicker and then went blank. All other manual switch functions work ok. Tried down powering the system and let it sit and re-powered it back up to no fix. 

 

The TxD green LED is steadily on (rear of the display) and 12VDC is good to the rear connector.

 

Any troubleshooting advice would be appreciated as we would not want to order a replacement control panel and it isn't the problem.

 

He tried to fixes in the 3 screen shots below and said: "I followed that troubleshooting previously and as mentioned, I got the +12vdc at the connector and the TxD green LED is on constantly. Our display doesn't have the "F" keys on the side, so I'm unable to do anything related to pressing 'F" keys."

 

Am I missing any big solution?

    If you mean it is a black screen, then probably a hardware issue. If you mean a blank white screen, still may be a hardware issue but worth trying a few things.

     

    If you have the software you can attempt to connect over USB. If you can connect:

     

    1. Read the project from the panel and save it.
    2. Try reloading the firmware and then reloading the project.
    3. Try Resetting Factory Defaults and then reload the project.

    Honestly, it's not worth throwing more than a few minutes at it. If its blank, it will not reset. Have had more than one just "die" in the last two years. I would not recommend them any longer. They last longer than the warranty period, but in one case just barely.

     

    After trying a competitive, similar priced units from another vendor: cMore (EA3 & EA9) is entirely too slow for updates and comms. Replaced two dead EA3-T4CL units and one EA9-T7CL, not as "easy" to design/config (software design) but performance is worth the hassle.
