Researcher (Customer) asked a question.
Where can I find the procedure to move back to a previous BRX firmware?
I need to upgrade to a new firmware in a BRX PLC this week but if I have issues, I would need to come back to the previous firmware.

What specific versions of firmware are you dealing with?
Also, what version(s) of Designer are you dealing with?
I recommend you try the upgrade and rollback procedure on a bench PLC (if you have one), just so you have a good idea what you need to do if/when you want to rollback an installed running PLC.
When installing Designer 2.9, it will ask you if you want to copy all your 2.6 projects to the 2.9 projects folder. This is a GOOD thing if you ever want to go back to 2.6, because those original files will still exist in the 2.6 Projects folder.
%public%\Documents\Do-more\<version>\Projects
where <version> can be
Designer2_6
Designer2_9
etc.
The firmware folders for each product is also below a version specific folder:
%public%\Documents\Do-more\<version>\bin\Images\<part-number>
After installing 2.9, you will want to run Live Update to get the latest 2.9 firmware and booter/gatearray files.
Designer 2.9 BRX will be in the folder
%public%\Documents\Do-more\Designer2_9\bin\Images\BX-DM1x
You will now have both Designer 2.6 and Designer 2.9 installed on your PC. Definitely keep 2.6 around since you want the ability to rollback. Note that Designer 2.9 can open up any version Project version from 2.9 all the way back to 1.0. HOWEVER, Designer 2.6 CANNOT open a 2.9 Project file (2.6 has no idea how to deal with new features added in 2.7, 2.8, or 2.9 that may be in the 2.9 Project file).
Upgrading projects is easy. Designer automagically upgrades the project files as you open them. You will need to update the firmware and booter in the PLC to 2.9 versions before being able to write the upgraded 2.9 projects to a 2.6 PLC. Best just to connect to the PLC via the link, upgrade the firmware, then open up the disk project in the 2.9 Projects folder.
TO ROLL BACK
It's best to clear the PLC with Designer 2.9, downgrade the firmware and gate array using the 2.6 version files you have in your 2.6 install (you can do this with Designer 2.9; if you've cleared the PLC, you can do it with Designer 2.6; a cleared PLC can be opened with any version of Designer even if the firmware is 2.9).
Once your PLC is cleared, you can launch Designer 2.6 and open up the 2.6 version of your disk project and write it to the PLC.
OPTION TO JUST UPGRADE FIRMWARE
You technically can just upgrade the firmware and booter to the latest and greatest 2.9 files but keep both your Designer software and Projects files as 2.6. Not sure if this is an option you want to pursue, but it is possible. This is possible because your project file on disk and in the PLC has a separate version called Do-more Technology Version (DmT). This allows a DmT 2.6 project to run fine in a PLC with Firmware version 2.9. See Help->Do-more Versions in Designer to see those details.
For this option, there is no need to install Designer 2.9. Just run Live Update with Designer 2.6 and then install the latest firmware and booter/gatearray file using Designer 2.6. Designer 2.6 Live Update will actually install these to the 2.6 bin\Images folder (not 2.9), so then Designer 2.6 Upgrade dialogs will find them.
@Researcher (Customer), you have the simple option of using the dipswitches of the Do-more BRX PLC. If you simply upgrade the firmware of your BRX to the latest version, and then determine that you do not want this version, you only have to power down the BRX, flip Dipswitch #0 ON, then power-up. BRX will automatically run the previous version you had before the upgrade. See the Do-more Designer Help file (DMD0266), or you can see the online version of the Help file Topic here: https://hosteng.com/DmDHelp/Default.htm#System_Setup/Onboard_DIP_Switches.htm%3FTocPath%3DHardware%7CDIP%2520Switches%7C_____0
