GSLogic online help will not load?

I'm having issues using the GSLogic online help(V.1.02). This is my first time with GSLogic, so I really need the help file. When I click it, The new window opens. I see your typical help file style display.

On the left, I'm given 3 tabs, i.e. content, index, and search. I can click on any option inside of the 3 tabs and nothing ever populates in the main section of the window.

 

I have uninstalled both help and the gslogic file. I guess, I could redownload it and try from there again.

 

Anyone have this besides me? Any recommendations?

    Found the problem this morning.

     

    You guys were right. It was a drive/file location issue. We have a network file redirect when something is saved to my documents, downloads, or desktop. I thought I could simply go around it using file explorer. It's obviously smarter than me.

     

    Decided to place the help and chm file directly on the c: drive and create a shortcut to the desktop.

    It's not elegant, but it works.

     

    I only need to program this one drive and it will only be operating like this for a few months until we do a machine upgrade which includes a plc.

     Did you unzip the file prior to running the installer? Zip file limits the installers options and can cause all sorts of odd behavior from missing help files to completely non-functional software.

    is the help file located on your PC hard drive? It will not work if it is accessed from a network drive. You can download the help file separately (the download is at the bottom of the download page). if you put this on your hard drive, unzip and open, it should work.

    Go to Documents -> AutomationDirect -> GSLogicV102 -> Right click on .chm file -> select properties. Is there an option to unblock? If yes select Unblock and then hit ok. Does this resolve your issue?

    The chm file is not blocked.

    Actually, I downloaded the help file seperately as well, and it will not load either.

    All the files are on my C Drive.

    Went back and redownloaded the help file.

    Placed it directly on my harddrive. Extracted all.

    Placed that file directly on my harddrive.

    Installed the software.

    It starts and runs, but will not load topics that I've selected on the left column.

      1. Double check the .chm file in the documents folder make sure it is unblocked.
      2. What operating system are you running on your PC?
      3. Try uninstalling. Reinstall by right clicking on .exe file and select "Run as Administrator". Try opening help file again.
      4. Do you have anything on your PC that could be blocking .chm file extension?

    Uninstalled and reinstalled several times.

    I have it on my desktop. I am running as an admin.

    I'm running Win10 Pro.

    Not sure what would block the .chm file ext?

     

    So when I look at the properties of the Online Help. Selected details tab.

    One of the last properties is : Offline status Offline(not connected)

     

    I'm going to assume that I need a connection, but I'm not sure what would be blocking it?

    I will not be much help other than to say that the helpfile opened and interacted as expected.

    I downloaded to 'my downloads' folder. Moved file to "C:\Users\<my profile>\Downloads\AD\Motion-Instrumentation\GSLogic" extracted and opened the .chm.

     

    Can you contact your IT person? Do other .chm files work? (CMore help when installed from the zip archive has always been my issue)
