CS Micro Pyrometer connection to SOLO SL9696-RRE-D ?

I have a SOLO SL9696-REE-D controller that previously had an Omega OS136A-2-MA pyrometer connected to it. It is setup for 4-20mA input. Presently it is setup to display the temperature on the screen and turn off an output thereby rejecting parts when they're under a certain temperature.

I would like to use a physically smaller pyrometer to fit onto a new fixture, such as the Optris CS Micro series. It appears the OPTCSMALT15SF0505 offers a 4-20mA output, however I'm finding the wiring diagram in the manual confusing. The old sensor simply had two dedicated input power wires and two 4-20mA output wires which are tied to pins 9 and 10 on the SOLO with a 249 ohm resistor in parallel.

The optris only shows a two wire connection and I'm not clear how (or if it's possible) to connect this to the SL9696 in the same way as the previous sensor? Could anyone clarify how to connect this sensor to the solo controller in the 4-20mA configuration? How do I get (both) power to the sensor and output for terminals 9 and 10 on the controller?

Thanks.

We set this up and tested as wired in the below diagram and it works as expected:

      Thanks, this worked perfect.

4-20mA output wires which are tied to pins 9 and 10 on the SOLO with a 249 ohm resistor in parallel.

FYI: The parallel 249Ω is converting the 4-20mA to roughly (0-5)VDC.

The calcs below ignore input impedance

    0mA * 249Ω =0v

    4mA * 249Ω =.996V

    20mA * 249Ω = 4.98V
