for the P1AM-100 are there High Speed Module's available such as the P2-HSO for driving and controlling stepper motors for velocity and position, and does the PS-AMC2 2-axis motion controller interface with P1AM-100? thanks
for the P1AM-100 are there High Speed Module's available such as the P2-HSO for driving and controlling stepper motors for velocity and position, and does the PS-AMC2 2-axis motion controller interface with P1AM-100? I have used the P1-04-PWM for velocity control of stepper motors without position control, and have also used the P1AM-100 output modules for discrete pulse generation, for velocity, position and direction control, with limited max pulse generation, and also tying up P1AM-100 to provide this function. can you recommend Arduino shields that provide this function of pulse generation and interface to P1AM-100...Thanks
The P1AM does not have a module that can drive a stepper while providing position. A P1-02HSC would be able to read the pulses from an encoder, however if using it with a P1-04PWM in a stepper application, the latency in the backplane to read/write the modules would potentially cause inaccuracies depending on your update rate. Because of this, I cannot recommend it as a solution. Additionally, the PS-AMC units are not supported on the P1AM platform.
There are a number of shields and breakouts available, but you'll need to make sure the specs are compatible with your stepper motor. Here's an example of one from Adafuit.
