Micky (Customer) asked a question.
We have a system with a P2-550 CPU communicating with a few P2-RS remote IO racks. There are times when one of these racks may have to be powered down or a rat chews an ethernet cable and puts the CPU in stop mode. The option to disable or inhibit a remote rack is needed as opposed to shutting down the entire process.
Couple years ago when I looked into this the only way to inhibit or disable was to just backup the program and delete rack from hardware config and redownload program and then restore original program when issue was corrected.
Is this still the case? Is there a better way or is there an option to inhibit a rack in the later revs of Productivity? If not I may have to look into replacing all these remote racks with their own CPU. We are currently running 3.8.0.
Select the remote P2-RS in hardware configuration "Allow program to run with this base group disconnected" option.
You should be able to use a tag in the "Module Ready" area of the remote slave CPU to detect when that remote base is powered on and ready to go as well, should you need to disable code sections or whatever if that group goes offline and/or to alert that a base is offline or not.
