gbob (Customer) asked a question.

How do I reference the IP address of a Productivity 2000 CPU Ethernet port?

I have a P2-550 CPU connected to a C-More EA9-T7CL-R HMI. I simply want to display the PLC's IP address on the HMI screen for quick reference. But I can't seem to find a tag or any information in the hardware setup where I can reference the IP address. I feel like this should be simple but I just can't seem to figure it out. Please help!

Productivity Series does not have a system tag that contains the IP address of the CPU. You would need to manually load a constant into a string tag and then display that string tag on your HMI.

I am certain that I have requested this in the past. Please accept this challenge! Thank you.

Productivity is lacking when it comes to system tags, seems to be more effort put into the Click line lately. Click allows access to the IP address, but the "flagship" PAC does not...

I noticed that myself. I have done it with CLICK and it is extremely simple, so I (incorrectly) assumed it would be simple with PAC...only to find out it's not even possible. Crazy.

In defense of Automation Direct, I believe Click has been around a lot longer than Productivity, so more time has been available for development. Moving forward, what I appreciate is AD listens to us users (as well as Host with DoMore), and I won't be surprised if this feature is added to a future software release.

CLICK software/firmware/hardware is also developed by Koyo/WinSystem who may have more control over the software/firmware/hardware interactions than AD has with FACTS hardware.
