Any suggestions for ladder diagram drawing software?
Im looking for a decent, easy to use electrical print software that can make a nice, printable electrical diagram that I can give to my customers with new control panels.
If anyone has any suggestions or experience with any Id love to hear it.
QElectroTech is one of the best free ones.
Awesome I'll check them out. Do you know of any other good ones to try? Even if they are not free, I dont mind paying for it if it does what I need
EPlan is one of the standard ones from from what I've seen but many people use AutoCAD as well.
I've been using AutoCAD for electrical diagrams since V10.
Not sure if it's the best ladder one but may check out skycad
If you are accustomed to AutoCad, but want a less costly clone, check out NanoCad. I've been using the Plus (subscription) version for about 5 years and I am very happy with it. I would like to keep giving my money to Autodesk, but not THAT much money...they wanted close to $2k/year for the Lite version. I pay $180/year for NanoCad.
Why not just AutoCAD 2D.? Useful for other things too....like dimensional uses.

I am trained in AutoCad since 1995, but if you have no experience with it, then the learning curve is a bit steep. If you have some AutoCad experience, the NanoCad clone is a great affordable version that will take advantage of your experience but won't break the bank. There is a free version that is quite full featured, but since I am using it for commercial purposes, I bought the $200 annual subscription that unlocks some things that are time $avers. I only recommend it if you have resources and/or experience to build on or might need to learn it to do other things besides electrical drawings:

I have seen others recommend SkyCad but I have no first hand experience with it:

I have used SkyCAD, and was going to use it. Decided to go with ElectraCloud from Radica Software. Signed up with them...and then Siemens bought them out. My problem with them is support response time has gone up drastically. The panel layout portion is ATROCIOUS! The other problem is, the software is BUGGY! They tout certain functions as value added or helpful in design. I see them as BUGS! The price also increased. Not sure I'll stay with them, but I just hate to change. If I do change, it'll be SkyCAD. The STANDARD edition is free, and is fairly easy to make the change. If you require panel layout, it's not badly priced. If you require design of custom wiring harnesses, there is also a level for that. Hope this helps!
