MoiGonzaga (Customer) asked a question.

Is it possible to configure a CR1100 with just one QR Code?

Hello, community,

I currently have a CR1100 scanner connected to our software application in order to read QR Codes in our daily activities. In order to work properly between the software app and the scanner we need to configure the device with the following commands:

  • A4: Reset RS 232
  • E4
  • E3
  • A3
  • B2, and
  • D4

So, I need to scan 6 different QR codes. Is there a way that I could take the commands of each of those 6 codes and put them in a single QR Code? (My idea is to take the 6 different commands and create my own QR Code)

In that way, anytime that a new cr1100 arrives and needs configuration instead of scanning 6 times I will just do it once.

I will appreciate any comment or guidance.

Regards,

Moi Gonzaga

  • MoiGonzaga,

Yes there is a tool called Cortextools2. This is some software that was created by Code. You can download the software here.  https://codecorp.com/products/code-reader-1100. Select “software” then navigate to CortexTools2.

    1. Open CortexTools and connect the CR1100 to the computer running the program.
    2. Go to the Configuration Tab
    3. Click on “From Reader” in the Get Settings section
    4. Select the various configurations you want to do. (Note I could not tell from your post what those settings are as each page in the configuration guide has an A4, B4, C4, D4, etc.)
    5. Click on the “Send Settings to Barcode Generator”

The barcode generated has all of the configurations you selected.

    I hope this helps.

Hello ATL Integrator, just wanted to let you know that your solution worked pretty well! We've been able to reduce the number of scans when configuring a new scanner. Thanks for the help!

I heard about Cortextools2, too. I don't know how effective it is at what it does, but many developers have praised it. I am often faced with the task of scanning a document, photo, QR code, so I also need a good scanning app. I have tried the iPhone scanner. Overall, it produces quality results, but it doesn't work as well with large files. I've heard many times about https://smartengines.com/. The developers of this service are actively using artificial intelligence to create cool phone and computer apps. Now I work only with this app when I need to scan something.
