Need rotary encoder with index pulse
I am trying to setup rigid tapping on a homebrew cnc conversion however I need something with a minimum 100 ppr, hopefully more, and I'd like more if possible but not too much. 360, 600 may be ideal. I really need an index pulse though and I'd rather not have additional external hardware for that
Here's a few NPN open collector models with an index pulse: (also available in line driver)
The Two 360 PPR models are different voltage ranges.
These are light duty models (actually built petty well) but if you want something a bit more rugged they have medium duty+ available as well.
All of Automation Direct's incremental encoders have a Z pulse that is the index for "0" of the rotation. They come in light, medium, and heavy-duty (basically just size differences as far as I can tell, never had one from any category break on me).
There are also other companies that sell programmable encoders where you can pick your ppr, and change the location of the Z index pulse anywhere on the rotation during programming rather than it being a set location that cannot move like on all non-programmable encoders.
