Best way to extend the range of Click to C-more HMI
I currently have the clicks port 1 configured for Modbus TCP and using the serial port 2 to communicate to the HMI. I have the RJ12 12ft cable but was wanting to look into ways of being able to extend that approx 50m give or take. I've seen where the c-more can be set up for modbus TCP but can only use write functions and I would need the read functions on the HMI for what we are doing. Is there any kind of repeater made for rj12 to extend range, or a better way to set up the click/hmi. Thanks
The c-more should be able to read and write modbus tcp. WHich click and which cmore?
C-more EA9-T10WCL
Click C0-11DD1E-D
Screenshot of the Panel Manger on the HMI only see the option for write functions.

I think that implies that you don't get to pick which Modbus Function Code to use for the read. It should do the read.
For long runs I use a Cat5e cable and set the Panel to use the AutomationDirect CLICK Ethernet protocol. This way you don't need to do any config other than match the IP address between the Panel Manager and the PLC COM1 Port.
Would that be able to work even if port 1 on the click is configured for modbusTCP and not ethernet?
Correct, the Click uses ModbusTCP as it's Ethernet protocol
I will try that, thanks!
The field 'PLC Port' having a value of 502 indicates this, too. 502 is the Modbus port number.
There is a lot of good Modbus information here.
Are you able to directly connect them with an Ethernet cable temporarily?
