EA9-RHMI Touchscreen Calibration Fails with ELO 2243L

C-More Touchscreen calibration fails. Skips to Redo or Cancel after first screen press. Calibration is mirrored left to right and no press button function.

Setup ELO 2243L, loaded ELO setup utility to PC, ELO connected to PC with DVI/HDMI cable and USB cable, calibrated touchscreen with ELO utility. Touchscreen responds correctly.

Connect ELO to EA9-RHMI with HDMI and USB to port TypeA.

Connect EA9-RHMI to PC with USB to port TypeB.

Run C-More Ver6.70 Com Config USB

Goto Panel Information / RHMI USB Remote / Enable Panel Operation

Set Mode on EA9-RHMI to STOP

With PC mouse click Settings / Adjust Touch Screen Settings / Calibrate

On touch screen press cross at top right. Circle flashes on top left then,

Screen changes to " The cursor should now follow you touch. Redo, Cancel. Other options greyed.

Cursor moves to touch but does not follow touch location, mirrored. Touchscreen will not select either button no matter how or where clicked. PC mouse will not select either button. Interface locked on this screen. To unlock I have to manually change EA9-RHMI to RUN and wait several minutes. Eventually it changes to default run screen. At which time I can reconnect with USB remote and try something different.

No errors shown in C-more Panel error list.

Please advise how to resolve this touchscreen calibration error.

I did a little more digging and found the ELO 2243L comes in three versions. Our screen has the part number E237584 with the following touchscreen specified as IntelliTouch - SAW.

@wellsbk (Customer) sorry you have had issues with calibrating the ELO touchscreen. Thank you for the details you provided. This is helpful.

My first concern was that ELO had updated their driver requirements. But their website does not indicate any updates since 2017.

From ELO's website, that particular part is an IntelliTouch SAW Dual Touch touchscreen. The EA9-RHMI only supports Single Touch touchscreens.

How do I access the EA9-RHMI panel driver ini files? EloOptions.ini file indicates that the monitor can be set up as a single touch unit by changing the MaxTouch key from 0 to 1.

How do I load new drivers into the EA9-RHMI?

How do I access the file structure?

      • ADC_HMI_PE (AutomationDirect)

These items are not configurable in the EA9-RHMI.

In version 6.70, the driver selected in the Panel Manager is loaded with the project. There is no other way to load drivers.

The file structure is locked. This is a closed device; the manufacturer does not give access to these items.
