Productivity Suite: current Version 3.9.0.26

Problem with accents in tags

Accents in the name of the example tag: emergência.

the tag disappears in the new version

    From the release notes:

Previous versions of Productivity Suite permitted the use of tagnames that include special characters.    To address Import/Export issues, beginning with version 3.9, we no longer allow Creation of tags with these characters.    When opening a project developed with an earlier version of the GUI that has tagnames containing disallowed characters, the user will be prompted to modify the offending tagnames.

If the user chooses not to make this modifcation, the project will still open normally and permit project transfer. However, instructions containing these tagnames, cannot be edited.

I can confirm that ALT-136 does not work for me.

I cannot enter or copy/paste it in.

What version did you originally use to put emergência in your tag name?

What locale (if you care to answer?) Are the original locale and the new install locale the same?

So far have not been able to duplicate tags disappearing that contain special characters.

In 3.9 you should get a warning when importing a project:

    special

FYI: This is all observational. I am not justifying or complaining about either approach.

      In 3.9.0.26:

I do not see the tags disappearing, what I do see is that they become unavailable to complete the selection from the taglist.

Also (I guess these characters are 2-wide) the drop down 'intellisense' fails at the character before the non-ascii character. -- as I type the tagname with the accented character, the stringmatch works until I get to the 'g' in emergência, then this word drops from the list.

It seems to me that OP had to finesse that accented character into 3.8.0.14.

      In 3.8.0.14:

The tag database does not allow me to 'create' a tag with the accent in the tagname.

It will allow me to later 'edit' that accent into the tagname.

Then, I can search for accented tagnames in the dropdown taglist at the element instruction entry.

--- I created a tag 'E' later edited it to be Eê.

Eê does not show in the tagname droplist when adding a NO instruction.

I can type Eê into the textbox at the top of the droplist and it works and is applied to the NO contact

Personally, I do not require non-ascii characters, but there is the whole rest of the world that use them!.

P.S. I would give you a dollar if you can get a [Preview] button in this forum.
