SNTP on the Click

I see that the new Click Plus offers SNTP for keeping the PLC's clock accurate. Please add this feature across the entire Click line of Ethernet PLCs. I have multiple installed systems that would benefit form not having to periodically update the processor's time; the RTC in the Click isn't great.

And before anyone suggests it, replacing the processors isn't an option. They're running systems that no one wants to take offline long enough to rewire everything.

Thanks,

Thanks for the feedback! I have forwarded your request to the Click Product Manager.

As a possible option, you could install one C2-01CPU and use this as the Master to get time and date using Network Time Service. Then over Modbus write to the other slave CPU's and update their times. This is described in help topic CL194 on how to Change Date and Time without using CLICK Programming Software.

I'm pretty sure you can spec a new Click Plus to match the I/O pinout of older Click PLC's, so you could technically swap PLC's in a minute by unplugging the terminal strips and and swapping CPU's. I'm guessing there is a hardware limitation to implementing all the features on older Clicks. But yes, I do as ADC Community 02 suggests, update the time and date from another PLC, in this case, a BRX.
