kewakl (Customer) asked a question.
I tested this in 3.8.0.14
It was also tested in 3.7.x.x - I did not do the 3.7 test, so I am unsure the exact rev/subrev.
Now that I have a way to read the updated 'datalogger' files from the P1 server, I have something else.
I stopped working on a way to collect this data since I could not download the log correctly.
I have gotten back to it to find this:
In 'Odd_Paste_1' notice the diagonal selection. I am certain that I did not intend to make a diagonal selection. I meant to copy 'GET_EN_25_2.Success' (Items 1 and 2, below, describe how I could do this.)
CTRL-C to copy
In 'Odd_Paste_2' I meant to paste 'GET_EN_25_2.Success' over 'GET_EN_25_1.Complete'
CTRL-V to paste
In 'Odd_Paste_3' the diagonal selection is copied across two separate rungs. The horizontal offset is lost, but that is not the issue.
[EDIT since we have NO PREVIEW!
Note the element at 63.2 column 2 is pasted onto 63.3 column 2 and the element at 63.3 column 3 is pasted onto 64.0 column 2.]
The issue is that the contents of one rung is pasted across multiple rungs.
I have noticed this before, but I could not duplicate it.
-1 sometimes it seems that I am just faster than the PAC editor. I can click on a different rung element and the old cursor location is NOT cleared after the cursor is moved to the new location. - this is unacceptable.
-2 a CTRL_CLICK will select two disparate rung elements - this IS acceptable and in some cases desirable.
-3 a single-rung copy should NEVER be allowed to be pasted across multiple rungs - no matter the selection count or the locations of the selected rung elements
As another test, I did the 'Odd_Paste_TEST' --- 1 and 2
I made a multiple element copy and pasted into rung 67.0 Column 1.
I get two rungs out of one copy/paste.
I hope that I made this understandable and can be duplicated.
--Note, I am trying to read a bunch of strings from a string array in the other PAC.
It seems that I have to bruteforce SINGLE string reads! I am not worried (at this time) about cleaning up the rungs. This will happen later.
[EDIT - replaced with somewhat sanitized images]
As a result of that rung paste issue, I think that I see something else. Maybe an internal pointer/index was corrupted!
Please find the BOOL named TestComp in any Network Read instruction!
I DARE YA!
PAC Suite 3.8.0.14
This is after loading the
(possibly corrupt?)project into a new instance of the software![Edit, I put strikethru in the above line because I went back to an older rev of this PoC project. The invalid search results still show! So the copy/paste issue did not appear to have caused the invalid search results]
Found it!
I now seem to remember this from many headaches ago!
I thought that this was fixed many releases ago!
The copy/paste issue seems to be related to the release notes for 3.2.0.12 bugfix 28
