C-More "Settings.ini" not found

PSA for those of us who have to support older stuffs!

C-More Version 2.77

I have to make changes to an old project. I have no intention of updating this panel SW/FW. I am not going to replace it with an EA9 until this panel fails.

Going to simulation, C-More complains that it cannot find Settings.ini.

This ---> C:\Users\%user%\AppData\Local\Temp\C-more (00420984)

is NOT a normal file-structure browsing location.

The dialog was correct. I created a BLANK file, named it appropriately and retried.

The simulator worked.

    C-more Temp FilesIt looks like everything in that folder along with the folder itself is created when the software is opened.

    True, but for some reason it must have failed to create the file this time. Maybe the (MIS/IT WORK INHIBITOR) virus/malware package interfered!

    I started the software to test a format/layout change in an existing project and saw this error when I invoked the simulator.

    I closed, reopened Ver 2.77 and retried the sim. It worked without issue this time.

    I am not requesting anything. I posted in case anyone else (or FUTURE ME) has this issue.

    I pointed out that it was not a normal browsing location for users because some of us (ME!) have trouble finding TEMP and virtualstore type folders -- through various WINVER installations and various programming PC/laptops.

    That is what the Community is for. Thanks for posting.

    Thanks for your post!

    I had the similar issue with v6.53

    I made some changes to an EA9 panel saved on my PC. Saved the changes and tried to Simulate, only to get a "...\Settings.ini file not found" I also got the same error when trying to save again (force of habit before closing an open file I had been working on).

    Thanks to your post, I navigated to the folder location for the expected .ini file and created a new .txt file that I renamed "Settings.ini" and everything works again :)
