GS4-47P5. I am trying to copy parameters from one drive to another using the removable keypad.
I have the keypad from the old drive (also GS4-47P5) that I successfully copied the parameters from the old drive to the keypad.
I set P9.06 to 1 in the new drive then use the keypad from the old drive and select Copy Param then Keypad --> VFD. It works on this for awhile but eventually gives SE1 error. I had to power the drive off to clear this error as none of the buttons seemed to clear it. Then I tried again and got ERR 7 and again had to power the drive down to clear it.
I ended up putting in all the parameters manually to get the drive working. What am I missing, or am I mistaken that these keypads can be used on other drives?
Just a wild guess but are the firmware versions the same?
Both drives are firmware v1.41. The Keypad versions are different but I can read the parameters from the old VFD with either keypad and write them back to the old VFD successfully, even doing a parameter reset on the old drive. Either keypad in the new drive gives a save error 1 SE1 repeatably after writing up to p4.65. I get flash of ANL error then SE1.
Really this is a test trying to figure out if I can bench program multiple drives using the single keypad and only applying 3phase power, as these will be shipped to a customer site and I want them already programmed. My guess at this point is because the analog is not wired the drive is giving an error and that is causing the copy to fail.
If memory serves me correctly. don't know your drive but Yaskawa you must enable the keypad to do upload and download from keypad, maybe your drive has same??
I did enable the parameter to enable download from the keypad. I have to wire up a 4-20ma signal generator to the AI2, which is the one I have configured to be used, to prevent the ANL error which allows the drive to completely program normally. A hassle to have to do that for bench programming.
