What does this 'Start' mean in the safety relay?

I found the 'start', but I am not sure what that mean.

When a light curtain is tripped and then cleared, you do not want the contacts to close again. This is used to start (restart) the relay.

Sometimes you do want the safety relay to reset automatically. There are applications for that. Consider a collaborative robot that goes into a reduced operation mode while a light curtain is broken and then continues on at normal speed when the curtain is clear. You don't want to have to reset that event every time if it's not necessary.
