Hi, I seem to be having some trouble getting my motors to move. I have followed the steps from this video http://www.aboutplcs.com/do-more/support/VidMotionConfig.html but it doesn't seem to work. Am I missing something? Are these instructions bad? Thanks it's been a bit frustrating as I keep double checking my program.

do you have the device wired correctly? I know this is usually the first question asked, but it is also the most overlooked item...

Do you have the jumpers in the CTRIO(2) set correctly?

Is your program exactly like the video? If not, can you post what you have?

Make sure that your module is a CTRIO2. The video is describing functions that are only available in the CTRIO2 and are not supported in the original CTRIO.

Ah, thats my problem. I only have the CTRIO. I guess I will have to figure out a different way to move the motor a small amount with a push of a button.

You could use either dynamic velocity or dynamic position, depending on how you want the jog function to behave.

I'm using a Do-more with a (H2-CTRIO) to set up the a stepper trying to learn how to do this, I went to You Tube and watched the video "CTRIO JOG & CONFIG ".

I did exactly as in the video with all the instructions, when I try run the functions and or the program this is what I get in the warning window. I don't understand why.

could use a little bit of help here, not sure where I went wrong or what I 've done wrong yet, any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

No matter what I do, I cannot get rid of these errors. I have looked at the manuals for both the drive, module, and the help from the DO-More. What is going on with this thing?

So what if don't have the (CTRIO2) mine is just the H2-CTRIO? When trying to configure it says that no configuration is needed, I'm confused.

The CTAXxxx instructions are part of the CTRIO2's new Axis Mode. It is not supported by the original CTRIO module.

When I got to reading more of the help files and other post I see now that the CTRIO(2) is a better module for this. I ended up for now, using the (CTRUNVEL) just to see if I could make it move. I need to get me a CTRIO(2) so that I can follow along more with the training, for now I get it and need to stick with the CTAXxxx that goes with my module. Thanks for the insight BobO, I'm getting it.

CTRIO2 Axis Mode is your friend. You have to do the initial configuration to setup the output as a pulse out, but once you 've done that, you don't need any other configuration at all. Super clean, super easy.
