Modbus RTU SVA2040

I'm getting ready to design a system with a couple of AD SVA2040 drives and SVM-204's. I have to control it with an AB Compact logix. I think Modbus RTU is a good way to go for this app. I 've looked at the manual for controlling the drive from Modbus and it seems relatively easy. Has anyone used this? Is it really as easy as just setting the appropriate parameter values via Modbus RTU? Any feedback is appreciated!
