I am just starting with DirectSoft and A-D so this is a programming issue that nobody seems to know anything about: I need to run a NEMA 42 stepper in velocity mode. As a result it appears that I have to program step trap accelleration and decelleration. In this application I am watching for either a switch to be made or for a pushbutton to turn off, resulting in decelleration back to a stop. The mass is very large so sequentially programming pulse frequencies over a set time period will require a lot of ladder, plus, the deceleration portion needs to start at the current frequency. Has anyone programmed a step trap acc/dec with similar issues? Has anyone programmed a loop to set a counter to 1, enter the loop at a slow rate, make the velocity change, check for switch states, increment the counter and loop. It seems that this should not be too difficult for an experienced programmer. This way I can jump out of the loop to a decel loop that starts with the V3633 rate and decrement from there. HELP!!! Appreciate any help I can get. TSG

More info
You may get more responses and get them sooner if you give more detail. What hardware and software do you have? Are you connecting an AD stepper to and AD plc? What PLC? What IO modules? What is a "step trap "?
