First let me say I am very new to this whole realm of PLC's, touchscreens, and Servo drives. I have some questions for you seasoned users. #1 Is it possible to put the C-More (12 " fully functional), a 350 PLC, and 6 or so Sure Servo Drives on the same 422 network? If this is possible I would then be able to keep port 1 free on the plc for programming. #2 I have had trouble getting the C-more to communicate through port 1 of the 350 PLC. I 've matched com settings and am using K-sequence protocol. I am using a custom cable, but I have verified the connections and I think its sound. From what I can make out this is possible, but I was hoping for confirmation to narrow down my trouble shooting. Any help is welcome.

    1) Not and have the PLC talk to the Sure Servo drives. HMI's are by default mastering devices that do all of the polling for data. You could use a D3-DCM for the C-more.

    2) I'd suggest buying the cable (EA7-2CBL) to make sure that you have all of the other settings correct. It will make troubleshooting much easier. Or if you are going with the D3-DCM to run the C-more from then the part number for the cable would be a EA7-4CBL-2.

Well I figured out the #2 problem. The port settings in windows said no parity so I had everything set up that way. I switched it over to odd(i think it was odd) and everything works fine. Gotta love it when device manager is accurate.

Thanks for the reply Tech Guy!

Device managers indication of parity really has no bearing on what the port will be doing when a program application uses it.

Also, 305 gear is not the best choice for a new application, if you haven't bought gear yet, I recommend moving to a 205 series PLC. Many more options are available in the 205 series.
