I have a problem designing an index conveyor using a servo and reducer that indexes 200 mm. This is similar to a job that was done previously here, but that person is now gone and the notes are not very clear. Previously he said that the ratio needed to be divisable by 3 and that the servo had 16384 resolution. So the numbers on his notes show 16384= 48 cm pulley circ.= 1 revoulution A 31 cm index was required last time = (16384 / 48) x 31 = 10581.3333 3:1=1024 12:1=4096 15:1=5120 Do these numbers make sense to anyone? How is the ratio determined? What would be required for a 20cm index? Does this prevent index creep or is it really that important? Thanks

So the numbers on his notes show
16384= 48 cm pulley circ.= 1 revoulution
A 31 cm index was required last time = (16384 / 48) x 31 = 10581.3333
3:1=1024
12:1=4096
15:1=5120
Do these numbers make sense to anyone? How is the ratio determined? What would be required for a 20cm index? Does this prevent index creep or is it really that important?
