We have a machine that is rarely run (like once a year) that has a 105 in it, yesterday when they turned it on it wouldn't operate. It took a while but I eventually noticed that the run LED was not on (note, this was not a red or flashing error light, it was simple the absence of the run light) Fortunately we have a licensee for DirectSoft 32, so I hooked up my laptop and switched to run mode, the (generic I guess) dialog said the "hardware switch " was in terminal position, but the first thing I looked for was a hardware mode switch and I didn't find one. Next I found the DL 105 manual (printed on the remains of dead trees back in the last century) and sure enough there is no hardware switch, and the manual says "WARNING: Once the super capacitor has discharged the system memory may not retain the previous mode of operation " it also says I can "set bit 13 in V7633, then they give detailed instructions on doing that with the handheld programmer; handheld programmer? HANDHELD PROGRAMER! WE DON't GOT NO STINKING HANDHELD PROGRAMER! they also say it can be done with Directsoft but don't explain how. I use DirectSoft about as often as this machine gets used (maybe less) so I'm kind of wondering how that would be done, though it really is mostly just idle curiosity because: As it turns out the PLC is not doing anything useful it seems it was intended do two handed control (I know one should not use a standard PLC for that, but I didn't write the program) however, it is doing it wrong, no simultaneous operation requirement no anti-tie down, so my plan is to just replace the PLC with a proper safety relay, making the whole thing moot, but still, idle curiosity. Funny thing is one can still buy a DL105, for just a little less than a non-Ethernet BRX! we have three more 105s sitting in a box (will be four when I add the one in question) and I have no interest in ever using them for anything. Now, the relay output model 105 does have pretty beefy relays compared to a lot of PLCs, but I'd rather buy and install a hand full of "ice cube " relays than deal with last century* tech. *back in 2002 (date on the Driectsoft32 manual) "last century " just a lame joke, but in 2019 it is more like WTF.

Here is a Pic I just snapped of DS6.. DS32 is similar..
{ "data-align ": "none ", "data-size ": "large ", "data-attachmentid ":121799} You must be connected to the 105 with a Cable to PC.. and the link must be active..
After all is happy.. go to..
Debug..> Change Values, and then drop on that.. A New Popup opens.. Put V7633 in the Element Window.. Then down at Format choose Binary .. Then place the curser on the bit you want to set.. change it to a 1.. Then Below the help button is a Red Arrow that is pointing IN to the PLC.. click on that button.. it will write that Memory back into the 105.. then you can close it all back up..
