I have been looking for a PDF instruction manual for programming with CLICK, it appears that people are just suppose to intuitively know how to use software, Well I'm not that smart. I went to the Help on the program or app or application or what ever its being called, and i printed out a section of the help 105 pages worth, after printing i noticed that half the pages were feed back comments. So I have a feed back comment; "Provide written instruction for non-intuitive people " Thanks Richard

    Richard,

You don't have to be smart to use the Click software.

It is not a requirement - or I would not be able to use it.

    Intuitive - that is subjective.

I don't think that you will find a 'programming reference ' outside of the help.

The help is really quite good. Maybe (again) not intuitive.

Break your problem into smaller, more manageable sections.

What is it about Click that doesn't 'come to you ' naturally?

Is there a specific instruction that doesn't make sense, software GUI presentation, or is it the 'big picture ' that has you gasping for air?

You can watch click videos on youtube. They are pretty good.

    A good starting point. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1smIvqPL9Hs&list=PL619E6C23A0A3C9A8

You have not indicated your level of experience with plcs so I don't mean it to be an insult that the first few videos in this list are very basic.

Interconnecting Automation has an excellent starter course. Costs $40, but well worth it if you are just getting your feet wet.

I have figured out how to stop and start relays, and create time delays presently I am trying to learn Latch and De-Latch (set and reset)

most of the help instruction do not seem very specific in a "how to format " or maybe its just me not reading the material close enough

Make sure that you don't confuse us when you use terms like Latch/Unlatch when you really intend on a Seal contact.

Latch (Set) by C_S and reset by C_R

    Latch_1 is maintained

    C_S Latch_1

    Sorry Kewaki

I dont have the vocabulary used with PLC's and computers. I only know Mechanical Latching Relays as Latch and Trip. I don't know much about PLC stuff other than they replace a lot of physical relays and timers, I know they can also read pressure and temperature but I don't know how to program that.

Most of the manuals I look at today assume you will figure it out, look at any fluke manual, or your cell phone manual, (just after I smash the first two cell phones I decided everybody in my house should have the same model phone so I have techsupport at all times)

    But I ramble.

Attached is a picture of a motor controller I am familiar with, and trying to recreate with PLC.

    Seal

True when C_1 goes ON when C_2 is OFF

Held True by Seal_1 contact in branch until C_2 goes True

    C_1 CANNOT override C_2

    C_1 C_2 Seal_1

    ----] / [-------+

Seal you your refering to the Auxiliary Motor Contacts (I refer to Seal_1 as the Run Memory...just the way it was explained to me years ago )

Here's my try at your logic. Read my rung comments to see my thoughts on translating your image to Click.

I 've been programming PLC's since 1987. I know for me, when I first started, just having something written by another, helped me understand programming better.

You'll find the Click is a fine PLC, and whole lot more affordable than those sold by the big guys. We use it on approximately 25% of our equipment.

I 've learned a lot by reverse engineering other people's programs. Every time I got a chance I would upload the program out of a PLC, then see how it was done.

Not a problem. Just trying to minimize confusion.

When i need help outside of my zone, my lack of knowledge of specific terminology probably drives people maddddd.😨
